This course is designed to train students in the use of mechanical skills needed to perform preventative maintenance, repair, power tuning, and troubleshooting of small displacement engines used for powering commercial and residential auxiliary and utility equipment, including but not limited to power generators, surface cutting equipment, tools, mowers, tillers, and snow blowers. Emphasizes 4-cycle engines, but basic 2-cycle engines are discussed. TOOLS ARE NOT INCLUDED

Course is offered to meet the statutory requirements of House Bill 12. Individuals who successfully complete the course can apply for a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit for the State of Ohio. Only handguns chambered for a 9mm, .38, .357, .380, .40, or .45 caliber will be allowed for use on the range. Students should bring their unloaded handgun with the appropriate holster that fits their particular handgun model and caliber and 100 rounds of ammunition. A limited number of handguns are available to rent at a price of $35.
