Designed for individuals responsible for training new employees entering the public safety field. The course will focus on the proper evaluation techniques and training methodologies to be used in assessing newly appointed employees and to document their progress. Additionally, the course will focus on the legal issues facing trainers: motivation, practical exercises, history and role of the FTO, allowing controlled mistakes, and evaluating written reports. This is a basic crime scene/auto accident photography class. Students will learn the parts of a camera, how a camera functions, and how lighting is applied to photographs. Techniques taught on how to take evidentiary photos of fingerprints, fibers, vehicle impacts, nighttime photos, painting with a flash, and other techniques. Required Equipment: SLR digital camera with Macro setting and the operating manual Patch cords to connect camera to a USB port on the in house computer Shutter release/lock cable Tripod Detachable electronic flash with sync cord to use flash unit off of the camera (3-5 feet long) Batteries for camera and flash 2 SD cards for camera Detachable lenses if available Contact the Public Safety Education Campus to register at 513.645.8350 or marshallv@butlertech.org
